SUMMARY: The Controller will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and keeping updated, accurate financial records according to GAAP accounting. The Controller will have oversight management of key operational accounting areas including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Property Accounting, in addition to assisting the Director with Budgeting and Forecasting responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.Prepare internal financial statements, complete with key commentary, on a monthly and quarterly basis for presentation to managementManage staff in general accounting and statutory accounting areas, including business and sales tax, to ensure timely and accurate reporting and paymentAssist Director in developing, documenting and implementing accounting policies and controls consistent with best practicesServe as audit lead for external auditors (401k, insurance, financial statement audits); facilitate the timely completion of audits by delegating tasks efficiently and successfully resolving issuesSuggest improvements to current procedures and systems; research and present viable solutions Lead finance projects as assigned by Finance DirectorProvide key support to CFO and Director in building and maintaining a strong department able to meet the challenges of a fast-growing companyPursue professional growth as needed to train and develop successful employees REQUIREMENTS:5-10 years of experience in the Controller role or similar accounting management experienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related fieldAdvanced knowledge of finance, accounting and budgeting utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a for-profit companyDemonstrated computer proficiency with advanced Excel Aptitude for learning and implementing new software systems Preferred Requirements:Manufacturing backgroundExperience with Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or other major ERP systemCPA or CMA WORK ENVIRONMENT: The usual work environment is typical of an office environment.
