Company OverviewGreene County Health Care is a Community Health Center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services -for members of our communities in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties in eastern North Carolina. - - - -Job SummaryThe Billing and Collections Representative works to ensure that revenue is optimized and collections are obtained in a timely manner, in accordance with the abiliyt of the patient and appropriate to the services provided. - -The Billing and Collections Representative work in the Administration location in Snow Hill, - NC.Responsibilities and Duties

Submits timely claims and statements to patients and third-party payors.Resolves, corrects and resubmit patient and insurance claims to ensure timely payment.Follows-up on unpaid claims and identifies appropriate action to resolve accounts, including referring accounts to the billing supervisor for action and potential bad debt referral.Reviews and processes all mail in a timely manner to correct claims or identify correcting information to ensure that payments are received timely.Works closely with Practice Managers and Providers to clearly identify collection issues and correct claims.Ensures that payments are entered accurately and timely and unidentified receipts are researched and resolved timely.Assists patients, as necessary, to resolve any claims issues to ensure proper collections.Maintains confidentiality of patient health information and any other confidential organizational information.Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma or GED.
Two years of customer service experience.
Previous experience with medical and dental billing preferred.Powered by JazzHR
