Sara Lee Frozen BakeryJOB Descrition: Sr. Cost Accountant / AnalystDATE:3/20/23REPORTS TO:Plant ControllerLOCATION:Tarboro, NCDEPARTMENT:AccountingJOB SUMMARY:The Sr Cost Accountant / Analyst will lead cost and variance analysis and provide business insight and recommended actions to improve performance at the Tarbor, NC Sara Lee Frozen Bakery plant including participating on cost reduction / process improvement teams. It is also a key developmental role to grow into Finance and Accounting leadership positions including: Plant Controller, Accounting Manager, and Finance Manager. Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is a $1B private Equity owned food manufacturing company headquartered in Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois with manufacturing plants located around the country. The position will be located at the Tarboro, NC Manufacturing Plant with occasional work from home days. Responsibilities while in this role will include training and development in a broad range of accounting, internal control, financial planning and analysis, continuous improvement and have the following key responsibilities:Accounting period close related tasksDaily / Weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) updatesCost and variance analysisParticipate on continuous improvement team projectsManagement reporting of financial results including calculating and communicating key performance indicatorsAnnual Operating Plan and standard cost developmentBusiness Financial ForecastsTesting and evaluation of internal controls including inventory accuracyTimely completion of assigned project work including process improvement and ad hoc analysisIn addition, the Sr. Cost Accountant / Analyst will develop strong broader business skills including:Exposure to other Supply Chain functions and disciplines through defined cross functional project work and participating on an operations improvement teamsSignificant interactions with corporate accounting and financial planning and analysisLearn continuous process improvement skills (e.g. lean / 6-sigma)Develop strong presentation skills preparing summary of cost savings project results to both management and production team membersWORKING RELATIONSHIP:Daily works with Plant Controller, and Cost Accountant as well as plant supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering professionals.Weekly interactions with Plant Manager, Corporate Controller and Director of Supply Chain Finance on results of analyses and ad hoc requests.Networking best practices with cost accountants at other plantsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:B.B.A. or B.S. in business with an Accounting or closely related major, CPA or CMA completed or in progress a plusDemonstrated interest in cost accounting and operations through course work, internships, full-time job experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to effectively interact with senior management.Computer savvy, knowledge of ERP systems, strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office applications including Power BI
