Description Title: Fire Protection Division Manager Scope: Multifamily & Commercial Fire Suppression services, inspections, repairs, installations. Location: Raleigh NC Rate: $75k - $90k Bonus (Negotiable DOE) General Purpose We are an established plumbing contractor serving multifamily and commercial properties throughout the region and are launching a new Fire Sprinkler Division. This is a unique opportunity for a NICET Level III professional to build and lead a fire protection operation within a stable company that already has a strong existing client base. The selected candidate will take ownership of the division from the ground up—performing inspections, service, and installation work initially, while helping develop processes, equipment needs, and customer relationships. As the division grows, this role will transition into hiring, training, and managing a dedicated team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants the independence and leadership of running their own operation without the risk of starting a business alone. ESSENTIAL JOB DETAILS: Perform fire sprinkler system inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs Install, modify, and service water-based fire suppression systems Troubleshoot system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards and local codes Prepare inspection reports, deficiency documentation, and service recommendations Coordinate scheduling and communicate job status with customers and internal staff Serve as the primary fire protection contact for assigned clients Identify opportunities for additional services, repairs, or upgrades within existing accounts Assist with light business development by supporting proposals, estimates, and client meetings Help establish division standards, procedures, inventory, and equipment needs Provide input on vehicle layout, tools, and operational setup for the division Maintain required certifications, documentation, and licensing compliance Support the future hiring, training, and supervision of fire sprinkler technicians as the division grows MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection & Testing (required) Ability to obtain a Fire Sprinkler Contractor license in North Carolina (required if not currently held) Experience performing fire sprinkler inspections, service, and/or installation work Working knowledge of NFPA standards and applicable codes Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to completion Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction A Self-starter attitude, and the drive needed to build business BENEFITS: Medical Plans with BCBS 401(k) & 401(k) matching Dental insurance Vision insurance Employee assistance program Life insurance Accrued Paid time off AJET Plumbing provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
