In this role, you will drive improvements in the production of Instrument Transformers & Sensors optimizing the production organization's casting methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

Production Development Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop new and improved manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, justification, capital procurement, installation, programming, start-up, capability studies, training, documentation, support to production, as well as continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supervision, maintenance and quality to troubleshoot all production issues related to process, tooling and machines.
  • Consult and work with production operators and supervisors to implement changes on the production line.
  • Create tooling documentation, maintain fixturing/tooling design and documentation database.
  • Select and design fixtures, tooling, accessories, and material for new and existing processes.
  • Analyze/study production processes and implement improvements with a focus on lean manufacturing, automation, and digitalization.
  • Assist with establishing process standards, routings, staffing requirements, and manufacturing instructions by analyzing, planning and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Lead and take ownership of improving safety, quality, customer service and productivity in casting processes using appropriate technology to solve problems to accomplish company and plant goals.
  • Manage tooling suppliers and vendors using best practices during tooling build and modifications keeping within time and budget. Your background
    • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
    • 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
    • Knowledge of casting, fluid dynamics, Automation & Control is desirable.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and edit drawings.
    • Good knowledge of SolidWorks and Autocad a plus.
    • Microsoft Office expertise, particularly Excel.
    • Experience with PowerBI and programming preferred.
    • Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
