Specifically, this role will entail the following scope: Provide
automation support and oversight to design and delivery of Lilly's
new Research Triangle Park facility. Manage system integrators to
deliver all aspects of Automation for Lilly's new Raleigh based
facility. Support key corporate initiatives such as life cycle
management, Engineering information management, and cyber security
Evaluate new technology and innovation trends leading to the
development of proof of concepts and sharing of use cases for
application within Lilly. Drive automation governance and
replication across the Global Parenteral Network and the Global
Packaging Network for Filling, Formulation, Autoclaves, Parts
washers, Automated Inspection equipment, architecture, and
Automation/IT systems and solutions. In addition, this role will
work to optimizes and improve project automation engineering
approaches by combining technical expertise, best practices,
engineering standards, and project delivery expertise. Key
Objectives/Deliverables Safety – Work safely and continually looks
for improvements in personnel and equipment safety, ensure safe
design and operation of new equipment, ensure automation design
reflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance. Automation
Design – Lead and support project profiling and design as needed.
Ensure project design meets intended requirements, considers life
cycle cost, and eliminates non-value add complexity. Use
replication and best practices to optimize project cost. Project
Delivery – Perform, review, and provide technical automation
guidance to project C&Q/Verification teams to ensure on time
delivery of project design and qualification documents. Provide
clear documentation for delivered solutions and processes; work
closely with system SMEs and site Quality while supporting
computerized systems verification processes in a GxP environment.
Must be able to execute work independently, work with various
support teams across the organization and be able to oversee and
lead activities to ensure that automated cGMP equipment,
facilities, and utilities perform as intended. Lead investigations
of automation related issues and incidents to prevent recurrence
including the development of corrective/preventative actions. Build
business processes to support the project scope in alignment with
project timelines. Develop detailed specifications and Engineering
procedures that affect parenteral workstream. Technology &
Innovation - Keep current on external trends and practices to
evaluate technology for application within Lilly.
Automation/Control Discipline and Technical Leadership – Partner
with colleagues to lead the discipline through solution assessment,
replication, and development. Manage tools, engineering standards,
master specifications and best practices. Provide technical
coaching and consultation to other Lilly engineers, facilitate
shared learning forums. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in
Engineering or related science degree Minimum 3 years’ experience
in automation machine control, process control, or equivalent work
experience in a related field. Qualified candidates must be legally

Skills/Preferences Demonstrated ability to work safely Demonstrated
expertise in one or more automation platforms, preferable Rockwell
Automation Systems. Significant experience and strong
problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or
manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data. Excellent
verbal and written communications skills Ability to manage people
and projects to deliver a common set of objectives Knowledge of
GMP’s and pharmaceutical manufacturing Knowledge in Microsoft
Operating Systems Knowledge in Databases Additional Information
Expectation that the position will be based out of Raleigh, North
Carolina 8-hour days - Monday through Friday, overtime and some
weekend/holiday may be required for project support. Travel:

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $64,500 -
$167,200 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
