Proven leadership and relationship building skills with adults and children, church members and staff, or similar experience with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse educations and backgrounds, (volunteers, staff, leadership, congregation members, adults and children). Demonstrated effectiveness with interpersonal communications and writing skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to participate in effective planning andto oversee implementation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the communication tools used by all members. Availability for limited travel and irregular hours._(_Page 1 of 4 i'i Associates degree and 2 years of experience or commensurate experience.Job Purpose: To develop the Family Ministry program at FPC which includes developing and planning outreach, social and education activities for all ages that enhance the life and faith of the adults and children of FPC and build community within the church and the greater con: ,munity of Washington. To assist the Pastor and program staff in the communication of programs and other informational and editorial duties that support of the overall ministry of the church.Duties in Family Ministry: Be an ambassador for FPC by having a presence in local community activities that may include but are not limited to youth outreach, sports events, dramas presentations, concerts, etc. Develop short and long term goals to grow the adult ministry at FPC, with quarterly evaluation of those goals to determine needs for redirection. Seek input from the Christian Education Commission, Women of the Church, Deacons, Ministry Commissions and Session in developing ideas for programing. Develop and coordinate programs for the adults of FPC that promote community within the church, develops spiritual growth and enhances faithfulness. Coordinate and lead the planning of special events. These may include, but are not limited to retreats, camps, conferences, sporting events, movies, dinners, lunches out, lock-ins, quilting guilds and local mission opportunities. Recruit, nurture and encourage teachers/leaders for all Sunday School programs and Youth Group, helping them establish appropriate programs and activities.This includes assurance that appropriate teaching and support materials are available. Develop programing for parents to promote strengthening of family relationships. Assist the Christian Education Commission with the development and implementation of the annual VBS, Youth Sunday and other children's program. Report monthly the activities and programs to the Christian Education Commission. Assist in the organization of the FPC Confirmation Class which is to be led by the Pastor._(-,_(\Additional Duties: Works independently with flexible hours with the understanding that some weeks and periods are busier than others. Attends staff meetings, keeping other staff and team members informed by verbal reports and presentations, making recommendations as requested/needed. Sits on Christian Education Commission and assists in preparation of the annual budget. Attending Presbytery education programs as assigned. Other duties as assigned.Hours of Employment, Compensation and Benefits: All employees will be subject to a 6-month probationary period. hours/week. Work and compensation will be evaluated annually, usually in the fall in conjunction with the annual budget process. Benefits will include three paid weeks of vacation for employees up to 15 years and four weeks beginning at 16 years. Vacation will be taken in coordination with church schedules and in consultation with the Office Manager and approved by the Pastor (head of staff). A stipend of $5,000 is included in the annual salary for self-paid insurance premiums in lieu of group medical insurance.Evaluations, Grievances and Termination: Grievances and disagreements will be directed to the Pastor. If the issue is not resolved the employee may appeal to the Personnel Ministry Team. Termination by the church must follow the personnel policy and may be immediate for cause. If the employee decides to resign due to a disagreement it is expected that the employee will give a two-week notice.
