Description/Job SummaryPlans, directs, and coordinates activities of design-build project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished safely within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through other project team members.
Responsibilities/Duties--- Be the owner's advocate throughout the design phase. --- Responsible for managing the design phase of utility design-build projects. --- Responsible for assisting in the technical writing portion of design-build SOQ's.--- Develops a schedule to complete the project on time and under budget.--- Develop and coordinate intermediate estimate scopes to clearly articulate to the estimating team the scope of work so they can provide cost estimates and GMP's as needed.--- Develop and purchase early procurement scopes/packages as needed.--- Manages procurement process, including design partners and other critical design subconsultants, and early procurement packages. --- Negotiate the design and construction phase contracts.--- Successfully transition the project from the design-phase to the construction team.--- Establishes work plan and staffing requirements for the design phase of project. Arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel through Department Head or General Superintendent--- Confers with the project team (including Subconsultants/Subcontractors) to outline the work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.--- Monitors and ensures quality control. Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. --- Creates, updates, and manages the design schedule. --- Monitors and ensures quality control. --- Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. --- Anticipates and solves problems. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice to solve problems--- Other Duties Assigned Required QualificationsEducation/Experience: --- Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university and four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Water/Wastewater industry.
Licensing/Certification: --- Abide by T.A. Loving Fleet Driving Policy. Must maintain a valid driver license and safe driving record.--- OSHA Training courses as required by the company safety procedures.
