Job Description:

Staff Today Inc. (STI) is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work at a Correctional Facility in Maury, North Carolina. These are registry positions with our company Staff Today Inc.


Shifts Available:

• 6: 00am-2: 30pm, 5 days a week
• 6: 00am-4: 30pm, 4 days a week
• Combination of two (12) hour shifts/two (8) hour shifts: 6: 00am-2: 30pm/6: 00am-6: 30pm
• 1: 30pm-10: 00pm, 5 days a week
• 11: 30am-10: 00pm, 4 days a week
• Combination of two (12) hour shifts/two (8) hour shifts: 9: 30am-10: 00pm/1: 30pm-10: 00pm
  
  
  Job Responsibilities:
  
  • Provide patient care under direction of nursing staff
  • Administer prescribed medications to patients
  • Sterilize and prepare medical tools and equipment
  • Assist in the transport of patients
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients, within the scope of practice to include, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Screen, observe, and assess patients, provide basic wound care and personal care to patients.
  • Deliver routine respiratory therapy and other treatments.
  • Catheter and colostomy care.
  • Collect vital signs and specimens.
  • Prepare and administer medications.
  • Administer and interpret TB skin tests.
  • Observe and record pertinent patient information.
  • Respond to emergencies, and assist the Registered Nurse and Physician, as required.
    
    
    Minimum Qualifications:
    
    • At least one year (12 months) of previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
    • Must have up to date credentials in the state of North Carolina
    • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
    • Ability to build rapport with patients
    • Familiarity with medical terminology
    • Correctional experience preferred, but not required.
