This position is located at DART Center in Goldsboro, NC, a residential substance use disorder treatment facility for male offenders. The clinical social worker may be called upon for involvement in cases inclusive of the most serious medical conditions along with serious co-occurring mental and substance use disorders. A unique element of this position is the opportunity for this social worker to be involved at all levels in the treatment of the offender. Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Providing clinical and administrative supervision to a team of certified/licensed counselors in the provision of substance use disorder treatment
* Performing Assessments, which includes information pertinent to the development of the treatment plan from the offender, the staff, medical and mental health records, community resources, the family and other sources
* Participation as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team collaboratively developing effective treatment approaches for each offender
* Performing individual and group treatment sessions as well as participating in crisis/emergency interventions.
* This position is responsible for facilitating service referrals on behalf of the offender and staff during and after treatment and acts as the primary facilitator of aftercare planning.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

* Thorough knowledge and understanding of social work theory, principles and practice methods coupled with the ability to apply that knowledge in clinical practice is required
* Knowledge of the provision of direct and indirect services in a residential setting is necessary for the provision of health and social services
* Entails a significant understanding of human behavior and its interplay with the social environment
* Utilization of the ecological systems perspective of person-in-environment is paramount to success in forensic health treatment
* Considerable knowledge of local (community), state, regional and national (federal) resources and agencies that have services available and applicable to offenders is required

Management Preference:

Prefer candidates who are credentialed by the NCSAPPB as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master's degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work. Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board.
