Job Description:

The Department of Family Medicine, Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, is seeking a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with additional qualification in Geriatrics at the rank/title of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher (rank is commensurate with experience) for a fixed term or tenure track position. The successful candidate will join a well-established medical practice comprised of leading divisions in residency education, medical student education, sports medicine, geriatrics, and research. The faculty member will serve as a physician in the Geriatrics division of the Department of Family Medicine. The geriatrics physician will participate in the teaching, mentoring, advising, and supervision of Family Medicine residents, Geriatric fellows, medical students, and other learners; will provide medical care to patients in the ambulatory geriatric clinic, Family Medicine Center, ECU Health medical Center, and one continuing care retirement community with skilled care beds; and will participate in various scholarly endeavors. The mission of the Geriatrics Division is to prepare learners at all levels of professional care for the challenges of caring for older adults. We use the following sites to accomplish this mission: Monk Ambulatory Care Center, including primary care for older adults, as well as Multidisciplinary Consultation Clinics for memory concerns, falls, and medication management. We provide on-site care in the Memory, Assisted Living, and Skilled units at a local Continuing Care Retirement Community, as well as inpatient care at ECU Health Medical Center.
