ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Experience scrubbing Cardiac cases -
Proficient in CVOR procedures Description: RTO after booking is not
allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or
additional RTO on the unit may lead to a potential cancellation of
the contract. The nurse is required to work four 10-hour shifts
from Monday to Friday and will on call during the scheduled days.
There could be a week when the nurse is expected to work five days
if called in during their call weekend. The call requirement
averages 14 call days over a six-week schedule. The nurse may be
required to float to the main operating room on the same campus if
there is low volume in CVOR. Weekend on-call shifts are required
every third weekend. Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team
or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during
catastrophic events or disasters. Patient diagnoses include CABG,
AVR, MVR, TVR, Aortic Dissection, TAVR, laser lead extractions,
Aortic Root, Carotids, thoracic cases, pericardial window, ECMO,
and Impella. The unit uses Pyxis for medication and EPIC for
documentation and communication. The nurse must be comfortable
floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby as
per job requirements. Travel pairs are allowed but must be
submitted to work on different units. Candidates must complete all
required modules before starting and annually thereafter. This
position requires two manager/supervisor references from within the
past 12 months at the time of submission. Travelers cannot work
more than five consecutive days or more than 60 hours in a
week.
