Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: ICU experience
Description: Registered Nurses will recover patients
post-anesthesia. The facility provides observation and care for
patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring
anesthesia. Patients are received directly from operating rooms,
labs, and emergency services. Recovery times may vary from 30 to 90
minutes depending on discharge criteria. RNs will be responsible
for managing care and observation for a diverse patient population,
including pediatrics. The unit is busy and requires strong
assessment and critical thinking skills. RNs are expected to handle
various types of surgical cases, including vascular, neurosurgery,
gynecology, and orthopedics. RNs must have experience in Phase I
and Phase II recovery. It is important to manage and monitor
patients with complex needs, including those who may be ventilated
or require ICU-level care during recovery. Staff may be required to
float to overflow areas as census dictates. Weekend and holiday
work is required. RNs will be part of a team that may respond
during catastrophic events. Additional responsibilities include
using advanced monitoring equipment and maintaining documentation.
