available with us. JOB TITLE: RN/LPN Nurse SCHEDULE: 11am-7:30pm,
Full Time LOCATION: Wilmington, NC REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENTIAL
QUALJFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, RN
or LPN Two years of progressively responsible experience working
with individuals having substance abuse problems; emphasis on
narcotic addiction Current license to practice as a
registered/practical nurse in the State of North Carolina OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience. POSITION
HIGHLIGHTS: Provides professional nursing work associated with the
medical/clinical needs of those individuals who are seeking or
enrolled in the outpatient treatment program or seeking services
through the outreach program. Responsible for providing
professional nursing care to individuals served within the
outpatient treatment, narcotic treatment, and outreach program. May
be required to work 7A to 7P every other Saturday, to facilitate
expansion of walk in induction program. Work requires acquiring
medical history and health assessment of each client, providing
appropriate care either through intervention or referral. Monitors
and ensures that dispensing of medication prescribed by program
physician meets the needs of the clients and meets statie and
federal requirements. Requires employee to provide client
assessment to determine the most appropriate action for
intervention which may range from referral to the program physician
to providing treatment via standing order. Required to document
pertinent client information and notify the medical services
coordinator of any discrepancies of local, state. and federal
regulations. Administers prescribe medication as directed by
program physician and provide educational information to clients
and families. Provide clinical education and training to staff:
families, and clients concerning sexually transmitted diseases,
TB/Hepatitis/related health issues, substance abuse, addiction,
narcotic treatment medication and recovery to include any
pathophysiology. Ensures standards of quality delivery of medical
services and infection control. Involved in providing clinical
education and in-service training to staff. Exposed to various
communicable health conditions involving air-borne and/or
blood-borne pathogens via venipuncture and urinalysis and is
subject to the OSHA regulation. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Thorough
knowledge of the medical and psychological components of substance
abuse, addiction, withdrawal, and methadone treatment. Thorough
knowledge of State and Federal requirements governing the narcotic
treatment program. Considerable knowledge of professional nursing
care standards and management, practices, and techniques relating
to substance abuse and addiction. Considerable knowledge of
infectious disease and its pathophysiology. Ability to assess the
medical and psychological conditions of clients. Ability to work
independently and knowledgeable of when to make an appropriate
referral. Ability to execute professional nursing techniques and
practices. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship
with employees, clients, co-workers, program personnel and the
public. Ability to take corrective action to address variances in
practice or employee performance. Must be able to physically
perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, stooping,
reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking and
hearing. Must be able to perform light work exerting up to twenty
(20) pounds of force occasionally, up to ten (10) pounds
frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to life
objects. Must possess the visual acuity to perform transcription,
do extensive reading, and use measurement devices. SALARY &
