United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg RN
in wilmington, North Carolina, 28401! Registered Nurse - Med/Surg
Oncology Location: Wilmington, NC Start Date: 03-16-2026 End Date:
06-15-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: 3x12-hour
nights per week, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, schedule varies (every other
weekend required) - Night shift Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay

Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care for
adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients with oncology
histories Administer and monitor chemotherapy, biotherapy, IV
therapies, and blood products safely and according to protocol
Manage vascular access including ports, PICCs, peripheral lines,
and perform central line blood draws Perform wound care including
Wound VAC management and care of surgical drains and chest tubes
Respond to cardiac and respiratory events, interpret dysrhythmias,
and collaborate on emergency interventions Document patient care
accurately in EPIC and manage medications using PYXIS with clear
SBAR communication Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to
coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
Participate in unit preparedness activities including
storm/hurricane team response and mandatory trainings
Qualifications Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg inpatient nursing
experience Ability to administer chemotherapy and hold an ONC
certification (ONC cert required for travelers) Current BLS
certification required Comfort and experience with blood product
administration and IV therapy; chemo certification ONS/ONCC
preferred Able to pass EKG testing prior to start Willingness to
float to similar units and work occasional call as required
Traveler experience accepted; first-time travelers are welcome Flu
vaccine required per facility policy with medical or religious
exemptions allowed Knowledge & Skills Strong Med/Surg and Oncology
clinical skills Proficient with EPIC documentation and PYXIS
medication systems Skilled in vascular access management, PICC
care, and central line procedures Expertise in wound care and Wound
VAC management Familiar with isolation precautions and PPE best
practices Comfortable with respiratory support including nasal
cannula and non-invasive airway management Effective communicator
using SBAR for handoffs and interdisciplinary collaboration Ability
to monitor and manage dysrhythmias and heparin/insulin drips
