years License: NC or Compact license required at time of start
Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Must be
able to administer insulin and heparin drips. Description: RTO
after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any
call-offs or additional RTO may result in a cancellation. Must be
available to work holidays. There may be a possibility of taking
care of COVID patients. The traveler will be assigned to an
Inclement Weather Team. The unit requires charge nurse experience
for night travelers. Target patient ratios are 1 nurse to 6-7
patients. The schedule may include every other weekend. Travelers
are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. There are no PCU
level patients on this unit. Patients are primarily adults and
geriatrics with general med/surg needs. Daily census averages
around 43 patients. Special procedures include insulin drips,
heparin drips, and wound vac dressing changes. High flow oxygen is
sometimes provided with respiratory support. Staffing includes
support from various interdisciplinary teams. The candidate must be
comfortable floating to similar units as needed. The candidate must
complete EKG testing prior to starting. The candidate must be
willing to adhere to a fatigue policy. Travelers cannot work more
than 5 consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a week. All required
modules must be completed before starting and annually thereafter.
