Job Description Hematology/Oncology Medical Director Opening – Coastal South CarolinaLocated in Conway, SCVisa eligible.An exceptional leadership opportunity for a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to serve as Physician Director of Cancer Care at one of South Carolina’s most trusted and innovative community health systems. This position offers the chance to shape the future of oncology services within a growing regional network while maintaining an active clinical practice.About the Position-Lead a well-established oncology program into its next phase of growth-Integrate world-class patient care, program development, and strategic planning-Diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer and blood disorders-Mentor physicians, APPs, and oncology nurses within a multidisciplinary setting-Collaborate with hospital leadership and Duke Cancer Network experts-Enhance clinic workflows, quality standards, and patient outcomes-Develop new treatment services and community outreach initiatives-Standard outpatient schedule, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm-Protected administrative time (8 hours per week)-Shared 1:4 call rotation supported by after-hours nurse triage-Team includes 4 physicians, 3 APPs, and specialized oncology nurses-EMR: CernerProgram Overview-The Godwin Healing Center is a Duke Cancer Network affiliate, providing access to advanced clinical trials, research, and best practices-Clinic includes a 10-chair infusion center, onsite lab and pharmacy, plus two additional infusion sites-Advanced imaging technology: PET, 64-slice CT, 3D mammography, breast MRI, high-definition endoscopy-Bi-weekly tumor boards for breast, GI, ENT, and other specialties-Surgical referrals for breast, colorectal, and vascular cases-Research alignment with Duke University and ACGME-accredited training programs-Preparing for accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on CancerCurrent Practice Details-Average patient volume: 15–20 per day-Patient mix: 40% oncology, 60% hematology-Procedures include bone marrow biopsies and port insertions-Focus on adult patients with a range of early-stage to advanced cancersCompensation and Benefits-Guaranteed base salary: $700,000 (flexible/negotiable)-$50,000 sign-on bonus-Additional wRVU-based productivity bonuses-Relocation assistance available-Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement with employer match-Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)-CME: 5 days and $3,000 annual allowance (licenses and dues covered)-Malpractice insurance fully covered-Emphasis on work-life balance with flexible scheduling and generous paid time offAbout the Organization-Conway Medical Center is a Duke Cancer Network affiliate providing world-class oncology care locally-DNV-accredited and named a Forbes “Best-in-State Employer†for three consecutive years-Home to the 2 busiest da Vinci Surgical Platform in the U.S.-Certified in Stroke and Chest Pain care by national organizations-Employs more than 160 providers across 50 locations with over 220 inpatient bedsAbout the Community-Located in Conway, a family-friendly coastal city minutes from Myrtle Beach-Cost of living 9% below the national average-Top-rated schools and home to Coastal Carolina University-Over 200 days of sunshine per year with an average temperature of 74°F-Easy access to beaches, golf, outdoor recreation, and vibrant dining and entertainment options-Convenient to Charleston and Columbia for weekend trips
