Assists in the Management of Restaurant's Catering Team
The Area Catering Sales Manager oversees the catering management
and sales activities for one or more Newk's Eateries in an assigned
region. They are responsible for achieving planned sales and
budgeted profit levels for the region's catering activities and
upholding of all Newk's policies, procedures, programs, and
The Area Catering Sales Manager assists in the recruitment,
development, direction and motivation of the catering team members
within the region, ensuring catering execution provides Newk's
catering guests with an exceptional Newk's Experience and product
quality outside the four walls of the restaurants. This position
also helps to protect the brand by maintaining a sanitary, safe,
respectful and efficient work environment.

- Proactively serves as an ambassador for Newk's Eateries, within
the assigned community, through consistent sales efforts,
identification and development of new catering contacts while
maintaining positive, on-going relationships with current catering
contacts. Serves as a positive role model of the Newk's culture
showing respect, concern and care for others. Impeccable time
management and organization skills; maintains a current, active
catering guest database.
- Participates as an active member of the community; sometimes
outside of normal business hours (Example: Represents Newk's Eatery
in local Chamber of Commerce and other community events).
- Assists in the recruitment and on-going development of catering
team members within the restaurant(s) of the assigned area.
- Communicates daily with Catering Team Leads within assigned
markets to ensure that all catering operational systems are being
executed properly in accordance with all Newk's established
- Maintain effective communication with CTL's, GM's, Area
Directors and Director of Catering.
- Build sales through consistent, effective community sales
initiatives by working with and through the Newk's Field Marketing
Managers to ensure brand standards for representation and
communication are maintained.
- Focuses the catering team on maintaining the image and Newk's
Experience service standards and actions to enhance the guest's
perception of their catering experience.
- Attends scheduled restaurant manager meetings and other
scheduled meetings to keep the restaurant management teams apprised
of all catering activities and sales initiatives.
- Responsible for answering the catering cell phone at all times,
including outside normal business hours; checks voicemail and email
messages and responds to catering guest calls in a timely manner
after-hours. (*if applicable*)
- Builds catering sales within assigned markets to achieve
planned profit levels while operating within budgeted
- Ensures that all Newk's Experience standards and catering
operational systems are executed properly in a sanitary, clean,
safe, and friendly environment, according to all Newk's established
- Ensures that all catering menu items are prepared, accurately
portioned, and presented properly in a sanitary, clean and safe
manner according to all established procedures, standards and
- Required, under certain circumstances, to perform or assist all
stations or functions for all positions in the restaurant.
BUSINESS / FINANCIAL ACUMEN
- Assists the restaurant catering teams in building and promoting
catering sales by building and establishing catering guest networks
within the community
- Assists the restaurant teams within the assigned area to
achieve planned profit levels through catering sales while
providing catering guests with an exceptional Newk's
- Assists the Director of Catering Sales with projected annual
catering sales while operating within budgeted guidelines
- Ensures proper management of inventory for catering utensils
and equipment through effective communication of needs and
projected catering sales and volume.
- Ensures accurate financial reporting to include: Catering
sales, house accounts and other invoicing procedures, productivity
and operating expenses.
- Anticipates, identifies and corrects catering system breakdowns
to achieve exceptional Newk's catering guest experience
- Responsible for all communication with regard to catering
- Responsible for meeting established catering objectives for
each accounting period.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS-- Occasional extensive standing without
breaks. Reaching heights of approximately six feet and depths of
approximately three ft.-- Travel to assigned out-lying markets
throughout the month for sales and marketing.-- Must have high
level of mobility and flexibility in space provided for periods of
up to eight hours or longer as needed.-- Must be able to work
irregular hours under heavy pressure and stress during busy times;
bending, reaching and walking.-- Carrying trays of food products
weighing approximately 20 lbs for distances of up to 60 ft.--
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.-- Slip-resistant shoes worn at all
times while in restaurant.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED-- Receives support and direction from the
Director of Catering and Area Director.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED-- Excellent communications and guest
service skills-- Impeccable time management and organizational
skills-- Knowledge of Sales Management-- Computer literacy;
comfortable with Microsoft Office Software including Excel, Google,
Google Calendar, expense reporting, Pulse, NCR, Aloha Insight--
Operable motor vehicle with valid Driver's License and
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED-- Prior restaurant catering sales management
experience.-- Business to business sales experience and in depth
familiarity with assigned markets and local revenue drivers-- Prior
experience operating FOH Aloha System.-- College degree (Associates
or Bachelors)-- Internal candidates considered for promotion to
manager may substitute Catering Team Lead experience for catering
