Job Description:
Network Engineer The Opportunity: A well-designed network is
critical to move data and enable agencies to achieve their
missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will
fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right
equipment and sof tware requires a combination of technical skill
and careful planning. That’s why we need an experienced network
engineer like you who knows how to develop the exact network the
DoD needs. As a Network Engineer on our team, you’ll use your
experience in network design and architecture, system
interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers,
multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual
routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and resp ond
to evolving adversaries. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex
network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and
increase security, reliability, and availability for
mission-critical network systems. You’ll apply your expertise in
routing and switching, troubleshooting, integration of encryption
gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP
engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label
switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as
you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and
deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network
protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will
come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization.
Using your experience in key management, sof tware and hardware
firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration,
optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding,
tactical networks, and SolarWinds, you’ll serve as a t rus ted
advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your
technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll

can’t wait. You Have: Experience designing, implementing, and
maintaining highly available and secure network infrastructure,
including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs? ?Knowledge of TCP
or IP stack, routing protocols, such as OSPF, BGP, or EIGRP, and
switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, or port-channeling
Ability to manage and optimize network monitoring, alerting, and
logging systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution
of issues ?Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root
cause analysis of complex network performance, connectivity, and
security issues across LAN or WAN TS / SCI clearance HS diploma or
GED Vendor Certification, such as CCNA, CCNP Routing and Switching
or Enterprise, JN CIA , or JNCIP Certification Ability to obtain a
Security Certification within 60 days of start date Nice If You
Have: Experience in network automation using scripting languages,
such as Python and configuration management tools, such as Ansible
or Terraform ?Experience mentoring junior team members and
participating in cross-functional project teams Experience with Sof
tware-Defined Networking ( SDN ) concepts and tools, such as Cisco
ACI or SD-WAN Experience with network security best practices and
technologies, including Next-Generation Firewalls, such as Palo
Alto, Cisco ASA, or Juniper SRX and VPN solutions Ability to
clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and
non-technical stakeholders ?Ability to work independently and
manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to
pay strict attention to detail Possession of excellent
problem-solving and analytical skills Clearance: Applicants

various factors, including but not limited to location, the
individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge,
skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific
affordability and organizational requirements. The projected
compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00
(annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical
salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz
Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will
