HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Quality team. The Quality Engineer III is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes utilizing the Hyster-Yale Group Production System. Identify and implement quality improvements in manufacturing Value Streams to ensure that product received by customers meet expectations. Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to resolve quality issues in the Values Streams. This position works closely with internal and external customers to assure accurate problem definition and appropriate corrective actions are taken to eliminate quality issues. Develops and maintain required reporting including COPQ, Warranty, Supplier PPM, and other Quality Metrics. The ability to work with and communicate with all levels of the operation, the company, and its customers is a necessity. The Quality Engineer III with have the following Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership to members of the Quality Assurance team to ensure team performance, facilitate growth, and increase team knowledge.

  • Lead and support Six Sigma, Global Problem Solving, and DFT continuous improvement programs to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, maximize profitable growth, develop a technically qualified work force, reduce operating costs, inventory, and product lead times.

  • Analyze, plan, and implement improvements of existing processes in a Product Value Stream(s). Support justification for improvement; implement improvements through process or equipment changes.

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing to analyze equipment / process issues to identify and resolve the issue.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to analyze equipment / process issues to identify and resolve the issues.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and improve processes as well as validate equipment.

  • Provide input for the internal quality process, including inspection, calibration, and MRB processes

  • Conduct warranty analysis to identify areas for Manufacturing and Design improvement

  • Act as a Customer liaison to assure customer satisfaction to resolve quality issues, field troubleshooting, and quality improvements.

  • Analyze needs and develop training processes for shop floor personnel. Analyze and implement solutions to production quality issues.

  • Support the BMS system through assigned activities such as internal audits, document control, and other BMS / ISO activities

The Quality Engineer III with have the following Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferred) or more than 10 yrs. equivalent experience in a similar manufacturing environment.

  • 5-7 years in Quality field

  • Ability read and interpret Engineering drawing including GD&

  • Assembly and manufacturing process knowledge

  • Manufacturing and product knowledge

  • Leadership and motivational skills

  • Problem solving and decision making skills

  • Communication skills (verbal & written)

  • Computer / Electronic Systems

  • ISO Standards
