We serve Beaufort, Bertie, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Tyrell, and Washington counties. WITN is the dominant station in the market. Job Summary/Description: WITN News is seeking its next New Bern Bureau Chief/MMJ. Are you a born storyteller? We're looking for someone who lives for current events - who enterprises hard news lead stories and doesn't pitch the latest press release. This candidate has a knack for communication, a passion for videography, and speaks the social media language. The successful candidate must be organized, driven, creative, and an active content creator. We are looking for a top-notch journalist who loves attacking breaking news and embraces a culture of urgency. WITN is looking for someone who is ready for the responsibility of overseeing an important coastal bureau for our newsroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for staying up to date on the newsworthy events happening in several counties and be prepared to respond to breaking news situations. The bureau chief can expect to report live in several afternoon/evening newscasts. A desire to anchor is also being sought in the candidate as opportunities for fill-in roles will happen. The successful candidate must be organized, driven, creative, and an active content creator.
