Job Summary Responsible for developing annual and midterm strategic plans for a human resources department/function that aligns with overall region company goals. Accountable for building internal and external partnerships that ensure results are delivered and processes and programs are improved or newly created. Reports and tracks department KPIs and service delivery to key business leaders. Routinely partners with functional peers and business leaders to anticipate, plan, and implement organization change that improves DENSO's market competitiveness. Recognized as a thought leader and is frequently brought into high level discussions to shape company approach and/or direction. Leads a team of human resources professionals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates with senior management to develop and secure short, medium and long-term vision, strategies and plans for regional human resources programs and ensures that they are both aligned with the organization's overall business strategy and are legally compliant Develops communications regarding and supports the vision and plans for assigned function(s) to customers (first level associates up through executive management) Develops, communicates and implements yearly goals and objectives with performance expectations for each function team and direct report, ensuring that they align with overall human resources and corporate strategies. Accountable for delivering results daily, weekly, annually, etc. Designs, implements and monitors a variety of human resource programs Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management Acts as a change agent in managing organizational change Maintains knowledge regarding the overall business unit(s) structure and overall organizational goals Drives change strategy for department and sought out as thought leader Ensures that company policies comply with all local, state and federal employment laws Through subordinate management, directs personnel by developing performance expectations, assessing individual performance and training needs and planning for goal attainment Assists direct reports in developing individual G&O's and success measures, as well as providing coaching, support and assessment to talent Directly and through subordinate management personnel, performs activities such as hire, promotion, termination and discipline recommendations; recommending and approving training for subordinates; completion of performance evaluations; approval of time off and other time and attendance activities; and other necessary action items Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Requires a 4-year degree in HR or Business Administration and 7-10 years of experience in a HR management role in a manufacturing industry Monthly travel to affiliate locations required Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations at the federal, state and at times local level Advanced analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to apply them in order to inspire and initiate new ideas, as well as to determine and develop strategies/processes often in the absence of guidelines or technical assistance Evaluates and directs complex systems that foster innovative approaches to procedures/processes on a functional-wide basis focusing on critical strategic issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills to persuade or influence internal and external customers on a wide range of subjects in situations which may be sensitive and/or lead to confrontation Master at building relationships and garnering support from others; viewed as subject matter expert Advanced public relations and listening skills are required in resolving precedent-setting and/or very complex issues and in negotiating maximum benefits for all parties Excellent negotiation skills in order to lead high level issues that affect broad or multiple areas to resolution Inspires trust in others. Serves as a role model in successful negotiation; uses influence in teaching others Models win/win throughout the organization Excellent customer service skills in order to develop and implement strategies for creating a customer satisfaction culture in the organization Facilitates working relationships and acts as a model of customer service for the organization Analyzes and provides advice on long-term customer satisfaction planning activities Excellent project management skills including the ability to define, prioritize and direct program, project or process objectives, identify customers/stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, and to coordinate and allocate resources in order to accomplish goals and objectives in an effective and timely manner Strong knowledge and demonstrated competency in working with computer software applications in order to troubleshoot issues, manipulate, analyze and extrapolate data In-depth knowledge of Internet and explorer application in order to research needed information Demonstrated people management skills that encourage associate development, assign responsibilities to best achieve team goals and that promote a positive working environment Ability to create, assign, track, and report on organization, team and/or individual goals
