Job Summary: The duty of the hourly team member is to mold and trim products to an established level of specifications in terms of quality and quantity on a molding and trimming press and other support equipment. Team members must have the ability to work with other team members in a cell concept rotating through multiple job functions throughout the day following a playbook for optimal performance. Ideal candidates are quick thinking and confident to ensure consistent processing and foresight to know the next task required. It is the responsibility of this individual to ensure that product/customer specifications are followed always. It is also in the responsibility of this position to ensure the site's daily performance metrics are met and maintained. The use of good housekeeping practices will be required to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe operational area to produce the expected quality of product established by West. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensure that the equipment is set up accurately. * Operate the mold press to produce molded panels of product following site SOI's and work instructions. * Operate a manual / automatic trim press as needed following site SOI's and work instructions. * Process trimmed product through washing and drying process per site SOI's and work instructions. * Process product through any required special treatments such as sort, silicone, chlorination, etc. * As needed, set up pack scales for weighing and packing of finished product and prepare carton labels for boxing and shipping. * Alert the Area Manager to conditions that may prevent meeting production and quality expectations. * Accurately maintain all required documentation and paperwork. * Maintain product traceability. * Inspect molded/trimmed work to ensure quality product is being produced. * Move materials into and out of the area as required. * Keep equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition. * Follow all corporate and site policies, practices, procedures and S.O.I.'s without failure or exception. * Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs. * Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules. * Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. Education and Experience: * Experience: 0-3 years work experience; 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Must possess an acute attention to detail * Use of computer using SAP commands as preferred * Must be willing and able to work as a team member * Make general decisions within authorized job responsibilities * Must be able to train and guide others as required. * Must be able to write and read in English Physical and Travel Requirements * * While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly stands, walks, talks, and hears * Be able to tolerate temperatures (250-350 degrees F) for short durations * Able to tolerate frequent steam emissions resulting from job-related equipment and functions * Pull molded materials from the mold presses (involving pull forces of - 50 - 60 lbs. or less for short durations) with multiple iterations per cycle and 6 - 8 cycles per hr. * Frequent above shoulder height work to pull molded product from the top mold or moving bags * Frequent bilateral grip/grasp and manual dexterity work required * Pushing or pulling of wheeled objects weighing 500+ lbs. or less for short periods of time and/or over short distances * Frequent bending and twisting as required by the job * Must also be able to tolerate industrial odors and smells on a frequent basis * Must be able to gown into required clothing for a controlled clean room * Must follow and comply with all Company and Plant policies, procedure (SOIs), rules and State and Federal laws West is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
